BOOTS FOR DANCING

pop aural

Hilary Morrison and Bob Last launched Fast Products in Edinburgh in late 1977.

More of a conceptual project than a 'record company', Fast Products had an original attitude and style distinct from any other.  What felt like a dynamic local art and music experiment very quickly gained national recognition for its' original aesthetic and qualities.

Pop art assemblage graphics and alternative sounds from emerging bands turned heads. And launched the careers of important creative groups of musicians such as The Mekons, Gang of 4 and the Human League.

The label released material by local Scottish groups such as Scars, The Flowers, The Prats and Thursdays.

POP AURAL was Bob and Hilary's next project releasing POP001 in 1979, The Flowers compositions, "Confessions and (Life) After Dark.

POP002 was the 12" single, "Boots For Dancing" released early 1980
